A Look at the Design of the Microsoft Lumia 640 XL
The Lumia 640 XL is a very big phone; in fact, it is just about as big as the Nexus 6. One thing that does make this phone feel even bigger is the colour choice. For example, if you go for the orange case, you’ll find that it emphasises it even more. Another thing that you should know is that this phone is 9mm thick so it is thicker than the standard 640. This makes it a little difficult to move your thumb over to the side of the screen, so if you have averagely sized hands or if you aren’t accustomed to using a larger phone then this is something that you are going to have to get used to. Of course, if you do have a large phone at the moment, you shouldn’t have any problems with the design so this is the first thing that you need to think about.
So what else do you need to know about this phone’s design? The build quality could be better, but on the plus side, there is no creaking with the plastic design even though this is something that you would normally expect. You will also find that there are no annoying gaps between the sides of the phone either, so you don’t need to worry about getting pocket fluff trapped in the case or in-between the volume buttons. With a removable back and a matte plastic design, it is very easy to grip and the streamlined design really is something that needs to be appreciated.
So all in all, the design for this phone is great, in fact, the only thing that could make it better is a change of material and who knows, maybe Microsoft will build on this with their next design.
